Kasich To Seniors: “Get Over” Lower Social Security Payments

KASICH 53485781a

Kasich Told NH Town Hall Attendee “You’re Going To Have Get Over” Reduced Social Security Payment. According to UPI, “During a ‘Fiscal Fridays’ event in New Hampshire, Ohio Gov. John Kasich told an audience member to ‘get over’ his proposed reforms to Social Security. During the event, the Republican presidential candidate said a balanced budget cannot be had without reform to entitlements like Social Security. He later said he was part of a 1990s effort to reform Medicare and Medicaid and that he sought to minimize benefits for individuals not yet near the eligible age.

Kasich asked audience members not yet near the eligible age for Social Security payments to raise their hand. He then asked if they knew what their initial payment would be and asked if they would mind a slightly lower payment for the benefit of the whole country. When one individual said they would mind, Kasich jokingly said ‘you’re going to have get over it.’ The remark drew laughs from the audience and moderator.” [UPI, 10/10/15]

Kasich Budget Would Cut Medicare

AP: Kasich’s Budget Plan Includes “Cuts To Medicare.” According to the Associated Press, “He does propose cuts to Medicare that would slow the growth rate of the health care program for more than 50 million elderly and disabled people.” [Associated Press, 10/15/15]

You’re not going to see as much in your SS check no matter who is President. The Fed is going to steal your SS, Medicare, Medicaid and savings. Either that or the dollar will collapse and no one will get anything they’ve worked hard for. Just where do you all think this country is headed? It’s not getting better, it’s getting worse. Wake up!

First of all, Social Security and Medicare are NOT entitlements, we still pay for those, especially Medicare. On the other hand Medicaid benefits are NOT paid for by those receiving it. It’s being supplemented by the pilfering of Social Security and Medicare. This is fact. After working for 48 years in NY and paying into social security and Medicare, I’m getting less benefits than those on Medicaid. Basically the illegals and refugees.

Carol you are the only wise personal that really understands it when a politician call social security entitlements I go crazy. I too have workd for 40 years and have contributed along with my employee to my social security fund at a cost of 15 percent of my gross salary only to have the politicians use it to get more votes. It is time to get someone in office to straighten out this misunderstanding that SSI and Medicare is an entitlement.

  2. Hey politicians. You all say there is not enough money in ss the program that working people played into. None of you ever say there isn’t enough money for welfare. Do you think we are all stupid. Politicians Republicans and democrats have raided ss over the years and you have the guts to tell us to get over it! Vote for Trump!!!

    1. Actually, ALL GOP candidates say they will cut welfare as well as SS and Medicare – it’s all included in their so-called “entitlements”. You make a statement that is only a half truth and then say you will vote for Trump? Someone has lied to you and you were gullible enough to believe it without even finding out the real truth. Then you throw your vote to a violent, bankrupted, braggart like Trump. No wonder the Trump fans are considered low-information voters – you just proved it. Educate yourself.

      2. Trump is not bankrupt. This country is though. Congress is not taking a pay cut, as a matter of fact they vote themselves a raise every year. Government has been stealing from SS for years. That is how Clinton “balanced” the budget. SS is not an entitlement. It belongs to people who paid into it and not to illegals.

The problem…..all our money is in the hands of a few corporations and the most rich who have taken it from the poor and middle class and spend it on feeding you the crap you spew.

Raise the cap for payments into Social Security and cut benefits and pay increases of Congress! That should help make Social Security more secure for at least a few years. And if Congress starts to feel the pinch in they own pocket, perhaps they will change their attitude and be more creative in their solutions.

The way I see it, Social security and medicare should be denied to the wealthy. That would free up quite a bit for the rest of us who depend solely upon our tiny social security checks to survive. If it weren’t for social security, I’d be homeless, and starving in the streets, and that’s a fact. Anyone who has a net worth of over a certain amount should receive social security and medicare. They do not NEED it.

You are not too far off in your thoughts. When SS was originally thought up.. The plan was everyone would pay into it but only the less financially well off would take from it. SS was set up as a way for the country to take care of the less financially secure older folks.

Firstly, Social Security is not an entitlement, people worked all their lives paying into S.S. and now they’re expecting to receive that money back. The second part, administrations from Richard Nixon on down have been stealing from the Social Security Trust Fund to fund everything from wars to military armament, without replacing the funds they stole. So truly, the Trust Fund would be solvent if the administrations had repayed those funds.

We need to pay the Pentagon budget so we can keep all these rouge leaders of nations around the world in check and maintain order and instill our democracy. Destroying and rebuilding countries is expensive. It is a time when we must make some sacrifices, and try to get by on less. Come on, dig down, you must have a savings. They told us to prepare!

  17. Will Congress also have their checks taken away from them? Teddy boy owes the establishment $127,000,000.00. They own him. He will never be able to pay that off. There is something very evil going on in the republican national. The Mexican is promised $25,000,000.00 to destroy Trump. Today both announced that Trump will not be nominated. The RNC has got what they wanted. Someone please tell me how Cruse got 27,000 votes before the polls opened. This is really getting to smell. If Trump is not on the ballet, I will be voting for the democrat that is in the lead. I am so sick of government. Take a look at this; LEAKED: Insiders Reveal Koch Bros’ Plan To Stop Trump…There’s A New Candidate
    Proud Conservative 5 days ago
Donald Trump is crushing the polls nationwide and continues to win primaries by a landslide, which makes the GOP establishment extremely nervous.
Marco Rubio is the establishment’s choice, but there is only one problem…Rubio is getting crushed in every way by Trump.
To solve the problem, the GOP has a new plan and it involves a new candidate entering the presidential race.
    From InfoWars:
Insiders who were at a recent meeting between the Koch Bros. and Marco Rubio leaked intel on how exactly they’re going to try and steal the election from Donald Trump, GOP strategist Roger Stone revealed.
The Koch Bros. met with GOP millionaires and billionaires Thursday night to pool together over $75 million to stop Trump and are going to use Mitt Romney as ‘Plan B’ if Rubio fails to gain traction on Super Tuesday, according to moles who were inside the meeting.
“$75 million to stop Trump and $25 million to Marco Rubio, but they gave Rubio a condition: he’s got to win the Florida primary or he’s out and Mitt Romney’s in,” Stone revealed. “That’s the plan.”
“First they’ll ramp up an enormous, negative campaign on TV against Trump and they’re going to hit this phony Trump University issue,” he continued. “They claim to have personal dirt on Trump – I doubt that – and they are also going to try and delve into his business affairs, but if Rubio fails to grab the Florida primary, then Rubio’s out and Mitt Romney’s in.”
“The plan is for Romney to file for the New Jersey, New York and California primaries in an all-out ditch effort to stop Donald Trump and you heard it here on Infowars.com.”
Additionally, Marco Rubio’s wife called Ted Cruz’s wife, Heidi, to desperately beg Cruz to exit the race and aid Rubio, but Heidi said no, Stone said.
“The power structure’s desperate, the Rubio and Cruz teams are going back and forth but they can’t agree as to who will be the candidate,” he added. “I still believe Mitt Romney is totally dressed up, already made up, waiting in the wings… to step in as the last, best hope of the ‘stop Trump’ movement, and frankly I think Trump will bulldoze him as well.”
This makes complete sense when you think about.
Mitt Romney has yet to endorse a candidate, which why would he if he’s going to be entering the race?
Also, Romney has gone on record saying there is a bombshell hidden in Trump’s taxes, saying this is why he hasn’t released them. This also makes…Romney attacking Trump aligns perfectly with the plan.
Someone needs to be charged for this.

1st off, the govt. And media have everyone brainwashed. Ss should be entitled money. That was it’s purpose. If you work from age 20 till 65 and pay 45 years into a system. .. chances are, you’re only gonna draw a maximum of around 15 years. ..if lucky enough to live that long. You’ve paid in an astronomical more amount, than you’ll ever pull out. Simple math. The govt has taken from the pot. …till the well is dry. But to insinuate that it shouldn’t be entitled is ludicrous. It’s your money. But as always. …..someone has to take the Blount of the punishment. Why not the elderly. They can’t riot. SMGDH

Punishing senior citizens for the government’s mismanagement is not acceptable! Maybe if we cut all the outrageous retirement salaries for senators, congressmen, vice presidents, and presidents and made them more on a level with regular citizens there would be enough money. The benefits reaped by government officials are so far off the charts it is laughable. And to think, us senior citizens help to pay for them while we can hardly survive! Something is seriously wrong with this picture!

It time for the congressional leadership to pay the same taxes as everyone else. They need to pay into social security and they also need to collect like all the people on social security. They don’ t need exorbitant retirement payments. Their wages should be brought down to what the middle class gets paid. I do mean the median wage of the middle class. They also must subscribe to Obama care like everyone else in this country. Once those items are in place we might see more of a balanced budget. Instead of reducing (entitlements) of the poorer people of this country we should take away the entitlement of the ruling class. Let the leadership share the pain like everyone else has to.

  31. Social Security is not an “Entitlement.” It is a benefit paid to people who have contributed to it through their payroll taxes all their working lives. When a person draws their Social Security check they are not getting a gift from Uncle Sam. They are getting something they have purchased with their contributions and their labors. American Politicians are often all too quick to call something people are supposed to get as “Entitlements.” Social Security is not an entitlement and has never been and if Congress would stop “Borrowing” from the Social Security Fund there would be no problem whatsoever.
